Al Nassr Crowned Saudi Pro League Champions as Ronaldo Brace Seals Historic Title

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace to inspire Al Nassr to a 4-1 victory over Damac FC at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh on Thursday, clinching the Saudi Pro League title on the final day of the season, the club’s first league crown in seven years.

The Portuguese superstar’s brace proved the decisive contribution on a night of high drama, ending his own six-year wait for a league title since leaving European football. Sadio Mané and João Félix were also instrumental, combining to dismantle a Damac side that had shown early promise before being overwhelmed by the champions elect.

Damac arrived with ambition, exploiting space behind Al Nassr’s defensive line with incisive long balls and threatening on the counter in the opening exchanges. Had their forwards converted any of several good early chances, the story of the night might have been very different.

However, Mané’s goal proved to be the turning point. The Senegalese forward’s strike shifted the momentum irrevocably, prompting Damac to retreat into a defensive shell from which they never recovered.

Without the injured Marcelo Brozovic pulling the strings in midfield, Al Nassr was forced to find creativity elsewhere. Ayman Yaha struggled to fill the void, but João Félix more than compensated. The Portuguese playmaker dropped deep to collect possession, stretched Damac’s defence with intelligent movement, and was a constant menace, even without getting his name on the scoresheet.

Then came Ronaldo. The 40-year-old, defying both age and expectation, delivered when it mattered most. His two goals sealed the contest and ignited scenes of jubilation inside Al-Awwal Park.

For Al Nassr and their supporters, it marks the end of a long and painful wait. For Ronaldo, it is yet another chapter in a career that has consistently refused to be written off.
