Amidst certificate forgery scam, Buhari offers Minister Adeosun additional appointment
While the NYSC exemption certificate forgery scandal involving the Finance Minister is yet to be resolved, President Muhammadu Buhari offered the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, additional appointment in the federal government.
Accordingly the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, has been offered additional appointment as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nigeria Bulk Electricity Trading Company (NBET).
National Daily learnt that the Director of Information, Finance of Ministry, Hassan Dodo, in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday, indicated that the appointment was approved by the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who is standing in while President Buhari is on 10 days’ vacation in London, the United Kingdom.
The Director highlighted the Director-General, Bureau of Public Enterprises, is the Vice-Chairman of the Board while the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, also appointed a Non-Executive Director.
Other Non-Executive Directors of the Board include Directors-General of Debt Management Office (DMO), Budget Office of the Federation and the Managing Director, Asset Management Company of Nigeria.
The Managing Director of NBET, Dr. Marilyn Amobi, was identified as a member of the reconstituted Board.
Meanwhile, SERAP has gone to court demanding NYSC Headquarters to provide details of the exemption certificate request by the Finance Minster.
