Anambra abolishes cash payment for revenue collection
It has now become illegal to receive cash payments as government revenue collection in Anambra State.
The ninth Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) made this pronouncement on Monday 26th of May at the ninth council meeting. It is now forbidden to pay taxes and other revenues in cash as part of the measures to curb extortion and fraudulent acts.
According to the State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, the Council has approved that all taxes, levies, charges, etc. that are due in Anambra State will henceforth be listed and made public, and advised citizens to call in law enforcement agents against illegal collection of these taxes.
ANSEC also affirmed that to provide security for projects located in communities in the state, responsible government-community collaboration would be established. During the council meeting, several projects were approved for construction.
One of the highlights of the ANSEC meeting was the approval of the Solution Fun City for the hosting of this year’s children’s day celebration.
According to the State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, as a people-driven and particularly a family-valued government, our children will be at the Solution Fun City on Children’s Day to celebrate and enjoy the world-class facilities.

The Solution Fun City is an international leisure park, which includes a water park, an amusement park, a family fun centre, and a country club, and the children’s event is themed Leisure Park’s excursion, which will be fun-filled, to make the day memorable.
Built by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s administration is the largest in Africa, and meant to provide relaxation, enjoyment, and family bonding for the people of Anambra.
