Assembly Speaker resigns in Taraba, lawmakers appoint successor
The Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Joseph Kunini, at an emergency session on Wednesday, voluntarily resigned his office, as the lawmakers appointed John Bonzena as successive speaker of the House.
The Deputy Speaker, Hon. Hammanadama Burkunu, representing Bali 2 State Constituency in the State house of Assembly, read the resignation letter of the former Speaker during the emergency session.
The deputy speaker, presiding at the emergency session, coordinated the nomination and election of the new Speaker, while members unanimously endorsed the nominated and election of Bonzena as the new Speaker.
