Bandits ambush, kill 20 security personnel, burn patrol van in Zamfara

A gang of bandits under the command of Turji, laid ambush on a security personnel convey, killing about 20 security operatives in Shinkafi Local Government Area, Zamfara State.

It was disclosed that the security personnel drafted from the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), supported by local vigilantes, were deployed to a village being ravaged by bandits. They were said to be ambushed on their way by the bandit command led by Turji. The bandits after killing    about 20 operatives in the convoy, burnt of their patrol vehicle.
