Bandits invade Mosque, kidnap 19 worshipers in Katsina
Bandits, at the weekend, invaded a mosque at Maigamji community, in Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State, and kidnapped 19 worshipers in the operation.
The bandits were said to have invaded the Mosque at about 7.40pm on Saturday, and kidnapped the 19 worshipers who were observing “Ishsha’i” Muslims’ evening prayers. The bandits were said to have stormed the Mosque shooting, injuring the coordinator of the Ishsha’i, and one other worshipers, before escaping with their captures victims into the bush.
The police, in conjunction with local vigilante, were said to have rescued two victims on Saturday, and another four on Sunday morning, after immediate intervention operations, while 13 victims are still held hostage.
