Buhari appoints new Inspector General of Police
President Muhammadu Buhari has announced a former Kano State Police Commissioner, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris as the new acting Inspector General of Police.
Mr. Idris is an Assistant Inspector General of Police who once led the Kano state police command.
Idris will replace Solomon Arase, who retires from the police force today.
The President is currently having a meeting with the new IGP at the presidential villa, Abuja.
Acting IGP is from Niger state. The outgoing IGP Arase was the 18th indigenous IGP.
