Bullion van heist leaves police officers dead in Ibadan
A gang of armed robbers hijacked a bullion van in Ibadan, Thursday, and many were fear dead I the encounter between the police and the robbers.
The bullion van was attacked shortly after it left one of the banks in Ibadan, located a few metres away from the Testing Ground Police station around Idi Ape.
Two dead casualties from the police side were already recorded. The number may be more, according to sources.
A video of the incident showed the operation lasted for minutes.
Other sources said the traffic light in Idi-Ape stopped the bullion fan before the robbers started shooting at the van.
The bullet-ridden bullion van has been taken to the police headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan for further investigation.
The state police command has yet to issue an official statement.
