Buni bursts El-Rufai, Bello coup at APC secretariat

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, may be working on bursting the coup plotted against him by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State and others, to take over his office, as his released the letter to handover the APC secretariat to Governor Bello while he was traveling to Dubai on medical vacation. Governor Buni in the letter dated February 28, 2022, and titled: “Transmission of Office of the National Chairman, CECPC,” addressed to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, and copied to all members of the CECPC and INEC, clearly informed  Bello of his departure for Dubai, and the transmission of the office of the National chairman of the APC CECPC to Governor Bello so as to continue with the arrangements for the party’s national convention scheduled for March 26.

Buni also appealed to CECPC members to cooperate with Governor Bello while he acts as the interim national chairman in his absence.

The transmission letter reads:

“This is to please inform you that I will be embarking on a medical trip to the United Arab Emirate (UAE) from today, 28th February 2022. I will resume office upon my discharge from the hospital.

“In my absence, I hereby transmit the functions of my office as the National Chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) to you. This is to enable the Committee to conclude all arrangements leading to the National Convention slated for March 26th, 2022, and other duties that may be require of the office.

“I invite all members to cooperate with governor Abubakar Sani Bello by extending to him all the support that I have enjoyed from you.

“Please accept the assurance my best regards.”
