Chelsea beat transfer deadline, sign on Aubameyang from Barcelona
Chelsea beat the summer transfer deadline on Thursday midnight in securing the signature of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona.
Aubameyang joined Barcelona in Spain from Arsenal in February this year and has returned to the English Premier League in September. Aubameyang, 33, from Gabon, Africa, was glad to work with his former manager, Thomas Tuchel, at Borussia Dortmund for a second time, this time in Chelsea.
Signing a two-year contract with Chelsea, Aubameyang said: “I’m really happy. It’s an honour to be part of this team and I can’t wait to start.
“I have some unfinished business with the Premier League, so, it’s good to be back and really exciting.”
Aubameyang scored 11 goals in 17 matches while in Barcelona.
