C’River: Lawmaker Senator Eteng Williams, installs street light, borehole in 27 communities
Senator Eteng Williams, representing Cross River Central District in the National Assembly, has completed the installation of street lights and borehole facilities in 27 communities across the district.
The projects are part of his ongoing commitment to improving the living conditions and wellbeing of the people in his constituency.
Speaking to newsmen in Calabar on Wednesday, Williams highlighted that these infrastructure projects were designed to enhance security and stimulate economic development in the region. “We have provided solar-powered water facilities in nine communities and installed street lights in 18 others. This initiative is aimed at creating a solid foundation for sustainable development and economic growth in these areas,” he stated.
Senator Eteng Williams, explained that the projects span the six local government areas within the district.
Borehole facilities were installed in Bendeghe-Ekiem, Ediba, Olulumo, Ababene, Ijom, Assiga, Aduma, Mkpani, Afaben, Mkpani, and Boje communities, providing residents with access to clean and safe drinking water.
In addition, street lights were installed in Ekori, Ugep, Mkpani, Inyima, Assiga, Nko, Obubra Urban, Oderegha/Ovukwa, Ofumbungha/Yala, and Isobo Otaka, Senator Eteng Williams, added.

Other communities benefiting from the street lighting initiative include Isobo Biko-Biko, Wula Ekumpuo, Okwabang, Agba Osokom, Katchuan Irruan, Nsofang, Ajassor, and Adadama.
Senator Williams noted that these solar-powered water facilities would ensure a reliable source of clean water, while the street lights would enhance social activities and keep the communities vibrant, especially during the night.
“This aligns with my promises to the people of Cross River Central. I will continue to work with relevant federal agencies to bring more developmental projects to our communities,” Williams affirmed.
The senator’s efforts are part of his broader commitment to improving infrastructure and ensuring that the people of Cross River Central benefit from essential public services.
