Edo 2024: Oshiomhole dares Obaseki, Shaibu
Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has dared Governor Godwin Obaseki, and Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu in the build up to the 2024 governorship election in Edo State.
Oshiomhole, former Governor of Edo State and former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) vowed to avenge Governor Obaseki of the defeat of the APC in the 202o governorship election after he defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Oshiomhole, expressing dismay over the appointment of many Aides by Obaseki and the deputy governor, declared that the appointments cannot help them, boasting that he will teach them that he is the master in Edo politics. He threatened to confront them fiercely in the campaign for the governorship election.
Oshiomhole at a political forum, had declared: ”The trick of Philip Shaibu and Obaseki is an old trick, their plan is to appoint many SSA.
“And at the moment, they have appointed 3,000 SSA who after the election, they will be gone. The ones they appointed after the governorship elections are all gone. But in this election, I will show them who is the real Boss.”

The former Edo governor may be threatening Obaseki and Shaibu fire-for-fire brand of politics and power struggle. The people of the state would, however, be weary of political violence.
Oshiomhole won the Edo North senatorial election in the 2023 general elections in the state, while the Labour Party (LP) won the presidential election in Edo followed by the APC.
Oshiomhole may be leveraging on the political machine of President Bola Tinubu in the APC structure and federal might at the behest of Tinubu to turn the 2024 election in Edo State against Obaseki.
Meanwhile, Governor Obaseki and Deputy Governor Shaibu recently had dispute which has however, been resolved last week.
