Ekiti suspends swearing in of SSG, AG, cancels Oyebanji’s Sunday thanksgiving to mourn late Speaker
The Ekiti State government on Thursday announced the indefinite postponed of the swearing in ceremony of the new Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Habibat Aduloju, and Attorney- General and Commissioner for Justice Barrister Dayo Apata, as the state mourns the demise of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Funminiyi Afuye, who died on Wednesday.
The state government in a statement on Thursday also indicated that the thanksgiving service for Governor Biodun Oyebanji scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed, adding a new date will be announced.
Speaker Funminiyi Afuye died on Wednesday of cardiac arrest.
