Esan leadership group to hosts Asue Ighodalo in Lagos
The Board of Trustees and members of Esan Leadership Group, (ELG), a political -Cultural group of Edo Central Senatorial District, has announced the planned official hosting of the leading aspirant for the coming Edo State governorship election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr.Asue Ighodalo, a Son of Esan land in Lagos State.
The event which will come up on march 8, 2024, will hold at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Ikeja.
Dr. Asue Ighodalo, a seasoned lawyer, economist, and a board guru and front runner in the 2024 Edo governorship race, will at the civic reception be decorated with the prestigious National Chronicle Newspaper Man of the Year Award.
This was made known in a statement by the President of the group,Tim Okojie Ave and National Secretary, Patrick Okohue.
Tim Okojie Ave is also the Publisher -Editor- In – Chief, National Chronicle newspaper.
The statement reads: “We decided to host Dr Asue Ighodalo in Lagos to further showcase his acceptance among Esan people in Lagos State and beyond, even when many of them had hitherto never related with him closely. It will also serve as opportunity to showcase him to the people of Edo State across the world.”
The reception, the statement added will be attended by creame de la creme in Esan nation, and well -wishers.
Others to be honoured at the event include frontline leaders from Edo Central Senatorial District, including Comrade Peter Esele, former President of Trade Union Congress (TUC), Elder Famous Enearu’ JP, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Classic Marine Services Limited, and Prof. S.E. Eromosele, founder of Mudiame University, and a frontline aspirant on the platform of the Labour Party, among others.
Side attractions at the event will include Esan cultural display, portraying the rich heritage of Esan people and other activities.
