Fidelity Bank partners with LASPARK to plant 20,000 trees
As part of its Environmental Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Fidelity Bank Plc has teamed up with the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) to launch a significant tree planting drive.
This collaboration aims to plant 20,000 trees across Lagos State by July 2025, contributing to climate change mitigation and promoting environmental sustainability in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 13.
During the launch event held in Alausa, Ikeja, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, Divisional Head of Brand and Communications at Fidelity Bank Plc, emphasized the bank’s commitment to environmental preservation.
“Environmental preservation is central to our CSR focus at Fidelity Bank, and partnering with LASPARK aligns perfectly with our sustainability goals,” he said. “We see protecting the earth as a collective responsibility, and LASPARK’s dedication to this cause makes them an ideal partner. This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to promote sustainable practices and ensure long-term environmental protection.”

LASPARK’s General Manager, Adetoun Popoola, expressed her appreciation for the partnership, highlighting Fidelity Bank’s consistent support over the years.
“Fidelity Bank has been a reliable partner, and this collaboration is part of our broader mandate to beautify Lagos and combat climate change through tree planting,” Popoola said. “Our target is to plant 20,000 trees by July 14, 2025, and this initiative with Fidelity Bank is crucial to achieving that goal. Tree planting is one of the most effective and affordable strategies in the state’s climate action and resilience plan.”

Beyond tree planting, Fidelity Bank actively supports environmental conservation through various initiatives nationwide. These include the maintenance and beautification of parks, gardens, and roundabouts; the donation of recycling bins to schools; and the provision of solar and inverter systems to institutions. The bank is also a key partner of the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF).
“The partnership between Fidelity Bank and LASPARK represents a shared vision for a greener, more sustainable Lagos and demonstrates the power of collaboration in the fight against climate change,” Popoola added.
