Four confirmed dead as boat capsize in Lagos

Four people have been confirmed dead after a commercial boat from Ijede to Lekki area of Lagos capsized in Badore.
The boat was on the way to Lekki from Ijede in Ikorodu when it capsized.
The Spokesperson, South-West Zone, National Emergency Management Agency, Ibrahim
Farinloye, who confirmed the incident said it had been initially thought that six people had died in the accident, but two of them survived.
It was learnt that about 13 people survived and 11 passengers were rescued. The exact passengers in the boat could not be ascertained.
It would be recalled that five people had died in September 2015 when a boat carrying 20 people capsized in the Bayeku-Igbogbo area of Ikorodu.
Boat accident have been a regular feature in Lagos killing over 50 people across the state in the last few years.
