Ganduje preaches reconciliation, peace building in 2022
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State in his new year statement expressed his anticipation that the year, 2022, will bring reconciliation and peace building among political stakeholders in Kano State and Nigeria.
Governor Ganduje in a New Year Message by the Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, emphasized that the need for internal democracy to flourish in political parties towards nominating credible candidates who have the capacity win elections at various levels, then, build on laudable programs and policies of the past leaders.
Ganduje noted that recent events in Kano indicated the likelihood of a new dawn in the political history of Kano State. The governor pointed out that the recent emphasis on reconciliation by political gladiators in Kano have stimulated excitement in the people of the state who have been demanding for peace and conciliation in the state to promote development.
The governor also expressed concerns over the spate of insecurity in the country, including the increasing poverty springing from the economic hardship in Nigeria.
Ganduje expressed optimism that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari can upturn the challenges, stating that the Buhari administration has been working assiduously for the proper implementation of its policies and programmes to reduce the suffering of Nigerians.
Governor Ganduje felicitated with the people of Kano State on the New Year, urging religious leaders to preach the message of peace, tolerance, and harmonious relationship amidst the challenges in the country.
