Ghanaian nurse sacked for offering bible and singing psalm to patients
When a nurse went above and beyond to share her faith in the Bible and the gospel of Jesus Christ with her patients, it sparked a debate over the intersection of religious beliefs and professional procedures.
People often seek medical attention in Africa because they believe it would bring them spiritual or religious blessings. Our continent does not have an issue with religious leaders praying fervently on behalf of the ill in the hospital. Other continents and countries, on the other hand, handle health care in a different way.
After officials discovered her extracurricular activities of exchanging bibles and singing psalms with her patients, the Ghanaian nurse Sarah Kuteh was fired from the Darent Valley Hospital.
She was sacked because of her religious convictions. The Darent Valley Hospital feared that her strong religious convictions could hurt her patients and make some of her patients uncomfortable.
