Groups vow to help security agencies go after IPOB, Ilana Omo Oodua
Comrade Adamu Matazu, President, Arewa Youth Foundation, has warned Nigerians pushing for secession and destabilizing the nation to stop, or else something will give.
Nigeria unity is not negotiable, according to Matazu, whose group was part of the rally the One Nigeria, a coalition of mostly northern groups, organized October 1.
“We are ever ready to support the security agencies to go any length to bring any agitator who are willing to subvert the security of our country,” he said, adding “we are solidly behind the president and the nation”.
Outlawed IPOB, Ilana Omo Oodua, and other groups have dialed up the temperature of secessionist agitation lately, with killing and disruption going on across the southeast.
Matazu noted the Constitution has given anybody the right to aspire for president of this country.
“We condemn in totality the attempt by some people to zone the presidency. We are not going to accept that, we are for one Nigeria,” he said.
