Herdsmen invade border community, kill seven in Adamawa
Herdsmen on Tuesday night invaded the Negga community in Numan Local Government Area, Adamawa State, killing seven people and injuring many others during the attack. Negga in Bolki ward of Numan Local Government Area, is a border community between Adamawa and Taraba states.
The herdsmen were said to have invaded the community at about 11.00pm and 12 midnight, and opened fire to make their ways to target spots in the community.
The Deputy Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Pwamwakeno Mackondo, representing Numan constituency, acknowledging the invasion, decried that seven persons were killed by the invaders, adding that seven others sustained serious injuries.
The deputy speaker cried out to the Nigerian military to step up activities to protect the people in the troubled communities that have become targets of frequent attacks by herdsmen.
