How Obi supporters defied police teargas, continued solidarity rallies across Nigeria
The Obidient movement on Saturday defied the spread of tear gas by the police and continued that solidarity rally in mobilizing support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, for the 2023 elections, in Ebonyi State and other parts of the country.
LP leaders and members in Ebonyi State has assembled for one-million-man solidarity match in collaboration with the Obidient Movement in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, South-East Nigeria.
They had assembled at about 9.00am at Mile 50 for a road show, but police, assigned to the two entry points, disrupted the activities, detonating teargas canisters.
The group reassembled kicked off the rally from the Pastoral Centre along Mile 50, went through Enugu Abakaliki Expressway, to the heart of the city, then, held the street procession back to where they commenced activities.
They declared massive support for the LP presidential candidate, mobilizing residents of the state for Obi.
