Iheanacho’s goal gave Leicester victory over Man City in Community Shield
The lone goal scored by Kelechi Iheanacho gave Leicester victory over Manchester City in the Community Shield match on Saturday. Iheanacho scored a late penalty to give Leicester 1-0 victory over Man. City on Saturday.
Kelechi Iheanacho was brought down in the penalty box by Nathan Ake, and he took the spot kick for a last-minute victory in the game from the penalty spot after the Nigerian was hauled down.
Man. City coach, Pep Guardiola, played a second team in the game as the star players were either resting after the EURO game or some were nursing injury.
The Premiership defending champion, Man. City played the match without Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden both of whom were declared to be nursing injuries suffered at Euro 2020.
Guardiola fielded teenage team while the big players had their eyes set on the Premiership games that would resume this August.
