Imo, Okoronkwo sign for top Hungarian club Ferencvarosi TC
Two Super Falcons of Nigeria stars, Annam Imo and Amarachi Okoronkwo, have signed for Hungarian top flight club, Ferencvarosi Torna Club, the best women professional clubs in Hungary, and one of the best in Europe,National Daily learnt.
The two players who were regulars with Nigeria Women Premier League defending champions, Nasarawa Amazon of Lafia, featured prominently for the victorious Super Falcons at the 2018 AWCON in Ghana, with Amarachi scoring one of the goals that helped the Nigerian team win the title for a record ninth time.
Ferencvarosi TC, who are Hungarian Premier League defending champions after winning the title for the fourth time in a row in April 2018, revealed that, they signed the Nigerian strikers so as to launch a strong challenge towards a rewarding participation in the 2019 Uefa Women’s Champions League.
Annam Imo, who is currently the highest goal scorer in the NWPL and Amarachi Okoronkwo, were offered a one-year contract by the Budapest based club and they are expected to resume before the end of January.
Super Falcons star player, Ebere Orji, once played in Ferencvarosi TC some years ago before moving to another European club.
Ferencvárosi Torna Club, known as Ferencváros, is a professional football club based in Ferencvárosi, Budapest, Hungary, that competes in the top flight of Hungarian women’s football and are also a force to reckon with in European football following their past records.
