Insecurity: Pankshin LG constitutes Joint Task-Force to intensify Security at yuletide Season

THE Local Government Chairman of Pankshin Local Government Council of Plateau State, Comrade Stephen Jings, has said he does not want to give to chance anything that would subjugate the people to massive killings as it is being witnessed in some parts of the neighborhood within Plateau.
The Management Committee Chairman of the Area, Comrade Stephen Jings, said in this wise the Council has set up joint security task force to check activities of some miscreants who would want to take advantage of Christmas and New Year celebration to terrorize people.
Stephen Jings, often called, Steeve-Jings and Seasoned Information Officer in Plateau state told our correspondent that the current leadership has intensified efforts to ensure that the current peace being enjoyed in the area is sustained. He appealed to the people of the area to cooperate and report any strange movement to security agencies whom he said would be on constant patrol within the nooks and crannies of the locality during and after the yuletide period.
Steeve-Jings says the council’s Leadership is deeply worried with some pockets of criminal activities being perpetuated in the locality by Men of the under worlds, and appeal to the perpetrators to desist, as the wrath of the law will soon catch up with them. “The message I would want to pass on to my people is that, they should spend this Christmas with sober reflection, because things are not well the way they should be in this country, they should maintain the peace, cooperate with government and ensure that the lessons derivable form Christmas period are maintained. “The greatest challenge during Christmas is security, most especially these small-small thievery, and we have started witnessing it, that’s why we here in Pankshin have decided to set up a joint security task force comprising of the Army, Police, Civil Defense, Operation Rain Bow and the Para-military to ensure surveillance before, during and after the season to ensure that we celebrate the season in tranquility”.
He added that on assumption to office he identified Water Supply as one of the dearest needs of the people and has been able restore water supply to Pankshin town, stressing his administration is bent on making Pankshin a better place to live, but expressed concern over inadequate funds that is being accrued to the council.
