IPOB bans restaurants, events managers, guests, others from consuming beef

Rearing of cattle and consumption of beef are now banned in the southeast, according to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

IPOB Head of Directorate of State (DOS), Mazi Chika Edoziem, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.

Edoziem, however, said the ban would take complete effect in six months.

“From that date, no more Fulani cows shall be allowed into Biafraland for any reason, not for burials, title taking, weddings, etc.”

He said the ban is the consequence of violence and killing by suspected Fulani herdsmen in the region.

Governors in the south are passing anti-open grazing bills into law to control the violence, though the decision has generated controversies.

But Miyetti Allah, the umbrella body of the herdsmen recently mocked the southeast governors, saying Fulani herders have Igbo land yet killing escalates.
