The crisis that broke out in Jos North in the early hours of Saturday morning, was brought under control by the Special Military Task Force in Plateau State, with 12 persons arrested and detained, Commander of the Force, Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Ali, has said.
Crisis erupted when families of slain Miango villagers in the August 1, 2021, attack were conveying their corpses from the mouchuary and were attacked by suspected Fulani herders, leaving two persons dead.
Our correspondent gathered that a reprisal was launched which also left several innocent commuters traveling along Jos road dead.
Quelling the incident, the Military Task Force moved in, halt and made some arrest, a statement sent by the Spokesman of the Force, Major Ishaku Takwa confirmed.
According to the statement: “Troops of Operation Safe Haven earlier today 14 August 2021 swiftly responded to distress calls that suspected hoodlums blocked Jos North Junction along Rukuba road in Jos North LGA of Plateau State and attacked some commuters.
