JUST IN! Solskjaer and United receive the greatest boost ahead of next EPL clash
These are happy moments for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and United as the club has been boosted by the return of their stars Scott McTominay and Alex Telles as they both returned from injury.
United’s left-back Telles, 28, has been unavailable after sustaining an ankle injury in pre-season, but National Daily can confirm that the Brazilian has stepped up his recovery in recent days and was pictured at Carrington in Monday’s session.
McTominay, who featured in the Red Devils’ first two opening matches against Leeds United and Southampton is also tipped for a return after the 24-year-old underwent groin surgery and subsequently missed the side’s win away to Wolves before the international break.
National Daily can reveal that the Scotland international was snapped by United’s official photographers as Solskjaer’s squad were put through their paces on their training pitches
Meanwhile, a statement on United’s website still suggests that it ‘remains to be seen whether the pair will be available’ for this weekend’s game at Old Trafford, with United boss expected to provide an update later this week.
Though, United duo Marcus Rashford and Dean Henderson are still sidelined with United still hopeful for Jadon Sancho to return to full fitness in time for Saturday’s encounter.
Sancho was believed to have picked up a minor injury while on international duty with England.
United sit third in the Premier League table after two wins and a draw and could go top with victory at the Theatre of Dreams on Saturday against the Magpies and with the hope that table toppers Tottenham who have enjoyed a 100 per cent record so far this season and second-placed West Ham suffer setbacks at Selhurst Park and at St Mary when they both play guests to Crystal Palace and Southampton respectively.
