A member of the electoral committee that coordinated the election of Alhaji Sa’adu Yusuf as the Lagos Arewa Communities Chairman in the state, has allegedly denied having knowledge of the process as he cites the state’s Commissioner of Waterfront Arch. Kabiru Abdullahi as his leader.
The conspiracy was hatched by Hon. Ahmed Al Dakata the Arewa Chairman in Surulere, when Alhaji Sa’adu paid a courtesy call to his office and that of the Surulere Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon Sulaimon Bamidele Yusuf, the APC Surulere LGA Chairman, former chairmen and the apex leaders of the party at their secretariat.
Sa’adu affirmed Surulere Arewa chairman Ahmed Ali Dakata as the Chairman of Arewa’s (APC) Surulere to the leaders of the party, while making his speech ahead of the proposed harmonisation of all the communities in the state.
According to Sa’adu the team had been on a familiarisation tour for some time now to prepared the ground and eliicit the required synergy.
“We have been on a familiarization tour, trying to bring our people together because we were aware of the reduction in our output in previous voting exercise.
“So we want to seek the consent of our esteemed members, and also rededicate them back to the party, if there is faction in any Local Government Area, we resolve it while someone will be made chairmen.
“ This is germane for us to restore our lost glory, as in the days of AD, AC, ACN and now APC, the platform through which Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu BAT, will be vying for Presidency come 2023.”
He opined that since Ahmed Dakata is part of the transition process, he is the Authentic chairman of Arewa in Surulere but Sulaiman Yusuf the council boss raised a poser on the authenticity of the chairman, citing that Dakata claims ignorance about his emergence prior to that day.
In his words,” Surulere is one, we are living harmoniously, but it will be right to know if Dakata knows about the state Chairman’s emergence.
Ahmed Dakata in response to council chief’s poser notes that he was not aware of any election or transition process which led to Alhaji Sa’adu Yusuf’s emergence as State chairman.
Adding that his leader in Arewa Lagos State,Arch. Kabiru Abdullahi, Hon Commissioner for Waterfront was also not aware.
To correct the perception a letter and communique bearing the signatures of Dakata Ahmed as a participant in the transition committee headed by the former chairman, Alhaji Dandama Yabo was tendered.
Listing expressly all others in the committee, Hon Shehu Usman, Chairman Mile 12 and also member of Lagos state Market board, Alhaji Ibrahim Malami, Hajiya Asabe Shafii, Hajiya Barr. Fatima Bako, Seriki Hausawa across the LGA’s and LCDA’S. Seriki Shuwa Arab.
The said communique which was equally sent to the National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Governor of Lagos State Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Party Chairman, Pastor Cornlius Ojelabi, Hon Commissioner for water front, Arch Kabiru Abdullahi, the GAC Chairman and to the Speaker of the Lagos State Assembly Rt.Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, were made available with all the acknowledgment copies.
At this point Dakata Ahmed got a rude shock and immediately retracted his earlier statement with which he feigned ignorance about Alhaji Sa’adu’s emergence, noting that he was actually acting up a script sent to him.
The Surulere leaders were amazed over the turn of events, given the vivid account of the process thus far and the presentation of all documents that validates the process, Dakota Ahmed’s real Identity was revealed to all and he could no longer deny.
The stakeholders then ruled that,” All indications proved to us, that they were trying to truncate the visit of the Arewa chairman Hon Saadu Yusuf to our local government area.
“ This is unfair but as a member of the progressive, we will be committed to making things work, as we continue to live harmoniously, you are always welcome anytime.”
