Lawyer alleges plot to subvert probe of #Lekkitollgate shooting
A legal practitioner in Lagos, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa SAN, on Saturday alleged plots to subvert the investigation of the October 20, 2020, shooting at the Lekki Toll Gate during the EndSARS protest in Lagos State.
The lawyer said that there is an alleged attempt to frustrate the Lagos State Judicial Panel on Restitution for Victims of SARS abuses and other matters, from reaching meaningful conclusions on its probe into the incident.
Adegboruwa, representing civil society, argued that the indefinite suspension of proceedings by the panel raises suspicion of plots to manipulate facts of the investigations.
Chairman of the panel, Justice Doris Okuwobi, had announced that the panel will be suspending sitting till further notice after the Saturday proceedings.
