Northern PDP leaders endorses Iyorchia Ayu as Consensus Candidate
Northern leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are not leaving anything to chance in the election of the party’s national chairman at the PDP national convention on October 20 in Abuja. The Northern PDP leaders at their consultative meeting on Wednesday in Bauchi, Bauchi State, adopted Senator Iyorchia Ayu as consensus candidate for the PDP National Chairman zoned to the north.
The northern PDP leaders convened the consensus meeting in Bauchi on Wednesday to forestall external forces in the PDP to influence the emergence of the national chairman at the national convention in Abuja.
Chairman of the Convention Organising Committee for the Northern PDP Leaders, Governor Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, had adjourned the meeting to Thursday, when Senator Iyorchia was adopted as consensus northern candidate for the PDP national chairman.
