Ogun Police warns against violence during APC congress
The Ogun State Police Command on Friday warned against violence and hooliganism during the congress of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
The State Police command in a statement in Friday indicated that in view of the State congress of the All Progressive Congress slated for Saturday and the credible intelligence at the disposal of Ogun State Police Command, the Command warned that any act of hooliganism and brigandage before, during and after the congress will not be tolerated.
In view of this, the Commissioner of Police deployed large number of policemen to MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto, venue of the congress.
“Therefore, anybody who has no business in and around the venue of the congress are by this release warned to stare clear of the place.
“The Command will deal decisively with anybody caught in any act capable of undermining the peace and tranquility being enjoyed in the state, no matter the position or status of such person.
“Parents and guardians are also advised to call their wards to order by counseling them not to allow themselves to be used for political thuggery as such will be viewed with all seriousness,” the Police declared.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, while wishing members of the party successful congress, enjoined them to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner and exhibit high sense of sportsmanship.
