Okorocha visits State House, Abuja, begs Buhari to stop EFCC on N2.9bn probe

Senator Rochas Okorocha, former Governor of Imo State, during a visit the State House, Abuja, was perceived to have begged President Muhammadu Buhari to stop the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from the ongoing investigation of the N2.9 billion fraud allegations against him.

Farmer Governor Okorocha in a media interaction with State House correspondents after visiting President Buhari at the Villa, argued that there is a court judgment, including two court orders for different judgments at different times, restraining the EFCC from further questioning him over the N2.9 billion fraud allegations. He decried that the EFCC has persistently disregarded the orders of the courts.

The Imo senator had appealed for the intervention of the President ‘to stop the EFCC from constantly harassing and intimidating him over the N2.9 billion fraud allegations’ for which he is being investigated. He was said to have demanded that the President to speak out on the matter.

The former Imo governor decried that the EFCC is biased, pre-judgmental, and politically motivated in his investigation.

Senator Okorocha had declared for the 2023 presidential race, thereafter, the EFCC descended on him, revisiting a pending N2.9 billion fraud allegations and swinging into action, thus, drilling the former Imo State governor.
