Operation Python Dance 2: Army raid drug baron hideout in Abia
Nigerian Army said on Tuesday that they have successfully raided notorious drug baron’s house in Achara Ihechiowa community of Arochukwu Council in Abia state.
According to the Deputy Director, Public Relations, 82 Division, Colonel Sagir Musa, said the troops on Operation Python Dance 2, in conjunction with operatives of National Drug
Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), raided the hideout.
He explained that arms and substances suspected to be Indian hemp were recovered from the house.
Col Sagir, who didn’t disclose the name of the baron said the raid was carried in the suspects home of the suspect in Amirima, Achara Ihechiowa.
He said: “Following a tip off, troops of Section 1, sub-section 4, in conjunction with some operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, at about 1. 45 am on September 23, 2017, raided a house of (alleged) notorious drug baron, now at large.
“During the raid, four suspected accomplices to the wanted (alleged) drug baron were apprehended from the compound.
“The following items were also recovered from the house: One shot single barrel gun; one long single barrel gun, one automatic pump action rifle, one locally made double barrel pistol, one binocular and two phones of Intel and Kismo brands.
“Others were some substances suspected to be Indian hemp. The suspects and the substance have been handed over to the NDLEA for further action,” Col Sagir reiterated.
