PDP BOT sets up Committee on constitution amendment
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has continued the spirit of democracy renaissance towards rebuilding the party in the new dispensation after the victory at the Supreme Court the preserved the soul of the party.
At a meeting of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), last Wednesday, at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja; the party leaders arrived at certain major decisions to move the party forward.
The communique at the end of the meeting which was chaired by the BoT Chairman, Senator Walid Jubrin, indicated that the Board set up a seven-member Constitution Amendment Committee under the Chairmanship of the former Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri.
The communiqué signed by Adm. Chinwe I. Nnorom, Head, Publicity Division, on behalf of the Chairman reads:

The outcome of the Board Of Trustees’ meeting – PDP
“The Meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), held today, Wednesday, the 13th of September, 2017, at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja; and it arrived at the following two major decisions:
1. On Constitution Amendment: the BoT has setup a seven (7) member Committee under the Chairmanship of the former Minister of Police Affiars, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri. The Chairman, Alhaji Waziri, is to consult with the six zones to get nominations for membership of the Committee. The Committee’s work is to draft the BoT’s input to be forwarded to the National Caretaker Committee on the ongoing Constitution Amendment in the Party.
2. On the Election of Secretary to the Board of Trustees (BoT): The Meeting mandated the Chairman, Sen. Walid Jubrin, to pick an Acting Secretary who will cease to function after the December National Convention, and to be replaced by a substantive elected secretary.
Finally, the body also discussed other issues that are of importance to the Party and the well-being of the Country.”
The resolutions sowed that PDP leaders are ready to take the responsibility of value re-orientation and democratic rebirth in the party to restore the lost glory.
