PDP NEC endorses rotation of national chairman to north
The National Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at its meeting on Thursday endorsed the zoning of the party’s national chairman to the North as recommended by the committee on zoning chaired by Governor Ugwuenyi of Enugu State.
PDD National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, at the end of the NEC meeting, in Abuja on Thursday, disclosed that the NEC meeting resolved that all positions in the party currently occupied by people from the South will go to the North and those occupied by people from the North will go to the South.
The NEC further reaffirmed the date for the party’s national convention in Abuja, scheduled for October 30 and 31.
PDP acting National Chairman, Elder Yemi Akinwonmi, had acquainted participants at the meeting that the NEC meeting was crucial to the survival of the party. He noted that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and other watchers, expecting the meeting will further deepen the crisis in the PDP will be disappointed with the outcome.
