Plateau APC congratulates winners of party primaries
By Kingsley Chukwuka
Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Plateau State, Hon. Rufus Bature has congratulated all candidates that emerged as flag bearers in the just concluded primaries in the State.
The flag bearers who emerged in the primary elections are to contest the 2023 general elections slated for February under the platform of the APC, our correspondent reports.
Prominent among those congratulated is the governorship candidate, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe who defeated other aspirants to clinch the ticket.
Bature who spoke in a statement sent to our correspondent in Jos, Tuesday, charged the candidates to be magnanimous in victory and advise them to urgently reach out to those they contested with, saying the contest is a family affair where there is no victor and no vanquished.
He equally advise them to quickly settle down and prepare for the greater task of contest in 2023, which the party has to work in earnest to win in order to break the jinx of not forming the government back to back.
“I also congratulate all delegates at all levels over their maturity and commitment during the primaries which were peaceful and rancour free, as well as the various electoral committee members deployed to the State by the National Secretariat of the Party and INEC officials who painstakingly monitored all the primaries in the State.
“I also expressed gratitude to the security agencies for maintaining law and order during the exercise and gentlemen of the press for the accurate and mature reportage of the entire primary elections”, Bature said in a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Sylvanus Namang.
Our correspondent reports that among those who won their primaries are the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ahmed Idris Maje, former Chief of staff Governor Simon Lalong, Chief John Dafa’an, who worn the ticket for the House of Representatives to represent Shendam/Qua’an Pan/Mikang, the current House Committee Chairman on Navy, Hon. Yusufu Babayo Gagdi, among others.
