Police apprehend woman, 30, for stabbing husband’s brother, 18, to death with kitchen knife
The Police Command in Ogun State on Sunday revealed that arrest of a 30-year-old woman, Cynthia Olukiowu, for stabbing of her husband’s brother, Abeeb Aremu, 18 years, to death with a kitchen knife. Detectives of the Ogun State Police Command had apprehended the woman residing at Number 2, Apogidonoyo Street, Jafa Agbado, on Saturday following a distress call from neighbours.
The Police public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement on Sunday narrated that operatives of the Agbado Divisional Headquarters had received a distress call that the boy, 18-year-old, had been stabbed on the neck by the wife of his uncle.
The PPRO stated that the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Agbado Division, CSP Kehinde Kuranga, immediately led a team of detectives to the scene, where the woman was arrested.
The police said that victim was found in a pool of blood and was confirmed dead by the doctor when rushed to the hospital.
The Police said the deceased had been deposited at Ifo General Hospital mortuary for an autopsy.
It was disclosed the woman had an argument with the husband’s relation when she accused him breaking a mirror in the house. In the process of the argument, the uncle’s wife took a kitchen knife and stabbed the boy on the neck, leading to his bleeding to death.
The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has ordered immediate transfer of the woman to homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
