Police arrest school guard over alleged assault on 10-year-old pupil
The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested a school security guard over the alleged assault of a 10-year-old female pupil in an incident that has sparked concern among parents and child rights advocates in the state.
The suspect was taken into custody following a complaint lodged by the victim’s family. Police authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to reports, the alleged assault occurred on school premises after normal school hours. The young girl reportedly sustained injuries and was subsequently taken to a medical facility for treatment and evaluation.
Confirming the arrest, the Kebbi State Police Command said it had commenced a full investigation and assured the public that anyone found culpable would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
