According to the Katsina Police Command spokesman, Abubakar Sadiq, a report was received at the Sabon Gari Division from Nasir Yusuf, the husband, who stated that he returned home from the market to find his first wife, Zainab Lawal, lying in a pool of blood, having been stabbed multiple times with a knife.

During the subsequent investigation, Labaran, who resides at the same address, was arrested in connection with the offense.
She reportedly confessed to the commission of the crime, stating that a misunderstanding with the deceased led to a scuffle and the tragic incident.
As the investigation continues, the Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Bello Shehu, has urged the public to shun all acts of domestic violence and refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
The commissioner instead advised individuals to seek legal means for redress in cases of disputes, emphasizing that vigilantism only perpetuates harm and undermines the rule of law.
