Police confirm death of former Immigration boss in Abuja Hotel room
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the death of a former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, in an Abuja hotel under circumstances that have raised concerns.
The police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of his death and track down an unidentified female visitor who was last seen with him.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed in an official statement on Tuesday that contrary to earlier reports suggesting that Parradang was attacked by gunmen in the Area 1 axis of Abuja, he was, in fact, found dead inside his hotel room at Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, Abuja, in the early hours of Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
According to the police statement, the retired Immigration chief had checked into the hotel on March 3, 2025, at approximately 12:00 PM, arriving in a black Mercedes Benz. He paid a sum of twenty-two thousand naira (N22,000) for a one-night stay.

Shortly after his arrival, he was visited by a yet-to-be-identified female guest, whom he directed the hotel room attendant to escort to his room. The woman reportedly left the premises at about 4:00 PM the same day, after which Mr. Parradang was not seen exiting his room.
Concern for his well-being arose when a military officer, identified as a friend of the deceased, tried to reach him but received no response. At about 4:00 AM on March 4, 2025, the officer traced Parradang to the hotel.
Accompanied by the hotel receptionist, they proceeded to his room, where they found him lifeless, seated in a chair.

The Durumi Police Division was immediately alerted, and officers were dispatched to the scene to secure the area and initiate an investigation. Law enforcement personnel took photographs, gathered relevant evidence, and ensured that all necessary measures were taken to preserve the integrity of the crime scene. The deceased’s body has since been transferred to the National Hospital, Abuja, for an autopsy and further medical examination.
SP Adeh further stated that the police are actively investigating the incident and are making efforts to locate and apprehend the female guest who visited the deceased prior to his death.
Meanwhile, hotel staff and other possible witnesses are cooperating with authorities to unravel the circumstances surrounding the sudden demise of the former Immigration boss.
As investigations continue, the FCT Police Command urges the public to remain patient while awaiting official findings, assuring that updates will be provided as more details emerge regarding the tragic incident.
