Police kill unknown gunmen, arrest others before attacking target
Days after some unidentified gunmen killed six people in Khana LGA, the police in Rivers killed some gunmen attempting to attack a station within the Eleme Local Government Area.
Others were arrested in the foiled attack.
The police got a tip-off, and deployed to ambush the bandits.at Eleme/Oyigbo road en route from Oyigbo Local Government Area.
The Rivers command is expected to release a statement.
Moreover, officers have been ordered to carry out only official and authorized assignments.
They have been banned from escort duties until further directive.
