Police smash 3-member ‘one chance’ syndicate in Lagos
The Lagos State Police Command on Saturday revealed the smashing and arrest of a three-man ‘one chance’ syndicate in Lagos. the police said that arrested three members of a syndicate, specialise in defrauding unsuspecting passengers in commercial vehicles.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on Saturday, identified the arrested suspects as Abiodun Bamidele, aged 48, Olumide Faleye, aged 45 and a female suspect, Toyin Adekoya, aged 49.
The PPRO said that the suspects were arrested at about 10.30a.m. on Friday, September 23 at Omole Estate, Phase 1, after their victim raised an alarm.
Hundeyin stated: “The suspects, while operating in a Toyota Camry car, with registration number KSF 608 GH, would disguise as driver and passengers.
“They pick unsuspecting passengers and start discussions about some dollars purportedly kept in the boot.”
The PPRO expressed investigation showed that the gang started this crime in January, adding that they have since been arraigned in court.
