Police threaten NLC President Joe Ajaero with arrest over alleged criminal conspiracy, others
The Nigerian Police Force has summoned Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), for questioning over allegations of criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime.
In a letter of invitation signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Adamu Mu’azu on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ajaero was directed to appear at the IRT office on Tuesday, August 20.
The letter, dated August 19, warned that failure to comply with the invitation could result in his arrest.

The letter, titled “Letter of Invitation,” stated: “This office is investigating a case of Criminal Conspiracy, Terrorism Financing, Treasonable Felony, Subversion, and Cybercrime in which you were mentioned. You are therefore invited to interview the undersigned on Tuesday 20th August, 2024 by 10:00 a.m. prompt, at IRT Complex, Old Abattoir by Guzape Junction, Abuja.”
Ajaero has been instructed to contact the Team Leader at the provided telephone number regarding the investigation.
