Pope sent mail with strange things parceled in, sender traced
A letter addressed to Pope Francis was intercepted by Postal workers at a sorting facility in Peschiera town of Borromeo, near Milan in Italy, and strange things were discovered.
The Police have launched an investigation into the envelope addressed with pen, bearing three pistol bullets..
The letter addressed to “The Pope, Vatican City, St. Peter’s Square, Rome”, is believed to have been sent from France.
David Dadge, Universal Postal Union (UPU) Communication Manager, commended the workers who discovered the ammunition.
“They are on the frontline when trying to keep the public safe,” he said.
The police are expected to provide an update on the probe after analyzing the bullets and handwriting.
The spokesman noted that postal workers, who process billions of letter and parcels annually, risk handling bullets, bombs and deadly drugs.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dadge added, brave employees worldwide continued to keep the mail moving to benefit societies and economies.
