Presidency 2023: Buhari invites Gov Ayade
There are insinuations that President Muhammadu Buhari may have invited Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State to the State House, Abuja, for probable consultation on the tussle for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket. National Daily gathered that the presidency, inviting Governor Ayade, sent a presidential aircraft to convey the governor to Abuja for the consultation.
The Cross River State governor, accordingly, departed the Airforce Wing of Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Càlabar, in a Presidential Jet sent from the Presidential Villa to Abuja.
It was gathered that Governor Ayade is “scheduled to meet with the Presidency, other leaders of the party and other major stakeholders on the way forward in the build up to the 2023 general elections.
Before departure, Governor Ayade had in a media interaction disclosed that he was on a mission to meet high level APC stakeholders in Abuja.
There are indications that the governor may be notifying President Buhari of his intention to join the 2023 presidential race.
