Presidential Election Petitions tribunal fixes Sept 11 for judgment

The Presidential Election tribunal sitting in Abuja has fixed Wednesday, September 11, 2019, for judgment in the petition brought before it by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and the PDP, challenging the declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of President Muhammadu Buhari of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the February 23 election.

All parties to the suit made their briefs and submissions on august 21 after which the tribunal promised to communicate the date of judgment.

The proceedings went through series of controversies and deep legal crossfire between the legal team, including the witnesses presented by the plaintiff and defendants.
