There’s no better opportunity than this your 50th birthday anniversary to tell you my mind because ‘wetin I go gain if I no do that.’
Looking back on all the amazing times we’ve shared, and excited for all the adventures to come, I am compelled to tell you that your kindness, strength, and the joy you bring to others are truly remarkable.
Today, heaven is surely rejoicing because one of God’s finest creations just hit the golden milestone—the big 50! Yes, PSE ,my dear brother, friend, colleague, and sometimes part-time Niger Delta militant (even if unintentionally), you have officially entered the fabulous fifth floor!
Honestly, turning 50 is a beautiful combination of faith, finesse, and the occasional “Lord, strengthen my bones” moment.
And through it all, you have remained steadfast, Spirit-filled, and blessed with a laugh that can brighten even the gloomiest of situations, not to forget also your militant graah graah that can whip even the terribly stubborn into line.
Publisher, PSE , now let’s be honest— reaching 50 is no small feat. It takes faith, wisdom, daily stretches, and the occasional “Jesus take the wheel” moment. And you have navigated it all with the kind of grace and humour that can only come from above. If age were measured in anointing, kindness, and ability to make the team meet deadlines even during Production meetings, you would’ve turned 100 a long time ago.
Your leadership qualities are rooted in humility and service. You’re the one we all turn to just to have a really get encouragement when things go sideways (which they often do!).
As Psalm 92:14 says, “They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green.” Well, you are not only still bearing fruit but also bearing other ‘choppable’ foods including swallow, and above all wisdom, and contagious joy wherever they go!
I can attest that at work, you’re known for your excellence, patience and sometimes flip-ups, but with unwavering faith under pressure. When the deadlines are tight and tempers flare, you usually remind the team, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10)— and somehow, it works. That calm voice, that reassuring frowns and sometimes smiles, that timely prayer… followed by a perfectly timed joke (whether accepted or unaccepted) would always remind the team that ‘nothing spoil.’
Spiritually, you walk with God like Enoch—except you have never disappeared (thankfully, because we still need you here!). Your life is a living example of Matthew 5:16: “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
You walk with a light that can’t be dimmed. Whether it’s whispering a quiet prayer before a tough decision or in a dire situation such as when my wife went to be with the Lord and came to Port Harcourt to see and console me, reminding us of God’s timing when we’re in a rush, or quoting Scripture with perfect comedic timing, you bring God’s presence into every room you enter— plus your militant graah graah!
And the best part: Through it all, you never lose your sense of ‘indabosky’ humor. You laugh like Sarah in Genesis 21:6— “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.” And truly, we do. Your joy is infectious, your spirit unshakable, and your jokes, unforgettable.
As Isaiah 46:4 beautifully puts it: “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you.” And to that, I say Amen, and also: Please Lord, let the gray hairs come in stylishly.

Through thick and thin, you’ve always been a true friend and a brother indeed in whom there’s no guile. Your wisdom, your humour, and your generous spirit make you one of a kind.
As you celebrate this milestone, may you reflect on the incredible journey you’ve had and the countless lives you’ve touched. Your wisdom, kindness, and strength are an inspiration to us all.
May this year bring you new adventures, new perspectives, and a renewed sense of purpose. You have so much to offer the world.
So today, I honour 50 years of purpose, passion, praise, and punchlines. May the next 50 be even more fruitful. May your knees remain strong, your joy overflow, and your Wi-Fi never fail during online prayer meetings.
Happy 50th Birthday Sylvester (PSE) my brother from another mother! You are a treasure, a testimony, and proof that growing older in Christ is a blessing—not a burden. You are a gift, a blessing, and a living testimony that God indeed has a sense of humor and a beautiful plan.
Now go ahead and enjoy your cake—it’s in the Bible somewhere. Probably in the Book of Celebrations.
Here’s toasting to PSE’s 50 years of wisdom, kindness, and amazing stories.
Wishing you an unforgettable 50th birthday filled with joy, joy unspeakable and full of glory.
Let’s raise our glasses and our prayer hands and shout: To God be the glory that Pastor Sylvester (PSE) is half a century young today!!!!!
