Real story behind viral photo of Northern SUG president coming to class in Mercedes with bodyguards
A viral photo of the President of the Student Union Government of Jigawa sparked lots of reactions online. In the photo, the SUG President of Federal University Dutse was seen coming in a Mercedes Benz escorted by several security personnel.
This photo sparked lot’s of mixed reactions from different individuals online as many took to their social medias to criticize.

However an investigation conducted by reporters has uncovered the true story behind the picture. Investigations have showed that the picture was taken during a simulation by the students of department of sociology and criminology.
The students aimed to simulate how important personnel are protected during times of crisis, attack or emergency. The security personnel seen in the picture are just students wearing costumes, the Mercedes Benz belongs to the school not the president.
I believe we can all learn a lesson or two from this incidence:
– It is important to always make adequate investigation before concluding a story, bloggers and writers should desist from rushing to write a story before getting adequate information.
– From this we can all see the effects of fake news. Fake news will sell a false narrative about innocent individuals and organization, sometimes irreversibly damaging their reputation.
– Readers should also desist from drawing conclusions from any type of news blogs, they should only trust news platforms with a track record of credibility and reliability.
