Recession Exit: Lagos Lawmaker lauds Buhari,urges sustenance of economic growth
A Lagos Lawmaker, Hon. Olusola Abdulhakeem Sokunle, has commended the Buhari led administration on the exit of Nigeria’s economy from recession, advising the government to sustain the economic growth of the country.
Sokunle, who is the legislator representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, stated that federal government should ensure that economic policies that helped in bringing into extinction recession in the country should be strengthened.
In a statement issued by the Lawmaker in Oshodi, Lagos, today, Sokunle stated that the Buhari/Osinbajo ticket was never a regret based on their tremendous performance in the revamping of the country’s economy, stressing further that it is clear indication that the duo have the sagacity to take Nigeria beyond where it is now.
Sokunle said “The economic policies that made Nigeria to exit from recession should be strengthened and sustained to ensure that the realise economic development. This period is a turning point for the country and the people, it is a great achievement for President Buhari led administration”
He stressed “Nigerians should encourage government as they achieve this great economic growth. The figure revealed by National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) systematically would translate to more opportinuties for Nigerians as time goes on. More employment opportunities would come up, more investors will come into the economic system and our per capital income will automatically increase”
The legislator advised Nigerians to make use of the prevailing opportunities which the economic recovery would present to them as most sectors of the economy would experience huge transformation soon.
It will be recalled that the NBS stated that Nigeria’s economic recovery was driven basically by the performance of four main economic activities comprising oil, agriculture, manufacturing, and trade.
