The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Mrs. Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite will on Tuesday, 27, August, 2024, at the Eko Hotels and Suits, unveil the traditional Lagos International Trade Fair, a statement sent to our correspondent had said.
The statement said a confirmation from the Governor’s office is still awaiting, but informed that preparations are on top gear to welcome the Governor who will be the Special Guests of Honour.
The Fair is a big deal as for the past 14 years, the commercial capital of Nigeria has not witnessed the annual event, our correspondent gathered.
The Fair in its usual tradition, usually hosts global manufacturers, captains of industry, big brands as well as small medium enterprise (SMEs).
It is, however, expected to boost the Internally Generated Revenue of the State (IGR), as visitors, investors, from all walks of life will surge into the city for affordable commodities and build contacts.
Our correspondent also reports that the President Bola Tinubu’s administration is aiming to use the Fair to address some of the economic hardship faced by Nigerians, as commodities will be sold at their lowest prices.
Earlier, the Executive Director of the Trade Fair Complex, Barr. Vera Ndanusa, said the upcoming Fair represents the beginning of a remarkable journey towards the ongoing reforms to reposition the complex to its original status of an international trade fair center for all Africa and Nigeria in particular.
Ndanusa promised that the Fair will address the challenges of food and commodity inflation.
